Introduction: The doctorpatient relationship is fundamental in the context of health care and the sociodemographic profile, as well as the conditions of access to health services, can influence the level of patient satisfaction with the medical appointment. Objective: To evaluate the quality of the doctorpatient relationship in a family health unit in the city of Belém (PA). Methods: this is an observational, analyticaldescriptive, crosssectional study, in which patients from a family health unit in the city of Belém (PA), from December 2021 to May 2022 were interviewed. data were obtained through the Patientdoctor relationship questionnaire 9/PDRQ9” and a questionnaire to characterize sociodemographic factors and access to health services. Results: The sample consisted of 234 patients (level of confidence = 95% and margin of error = 5%). 61.6% were under 50 years of age, 78.6% were female, 56.4% had a high scool education, 51.3% were single, 83.3% had a monthly Family income of less than one minimun wage and 94% did not have health insurance. The global score for the level of satisfaction of patients treated at the health unit was 3.8 (± 1.08). There was no difference in the level of satisfaction with the doctorpatient relationship regarding age group, sex, marital status, monthly income, presence of chronic diseases, access to health insurance and evaluation of medical care received outside the FHS. There was a statistically significant difference in the level of patient satisfaction regarding education, attendance by the same doctor, consultation time and those who are consulted outside the FHS. Conclusion: In general, patients at the health unit showed a moderate degree of satisfaction with the medical care received at the place. There was little association between the level of satisfaction and endogenous factors to the patient, being related to external factors, which are subject to intervention either by the professional(s) or by the administrative management. The scarcity of studies based on the PDRQ9 questionnaire to assess the doctorpatient relationship limited the comparison of data from this study with others, showing that there is still a long way to go towards meeting the policies of Humanization of Care and Management and of Monitoring and Evaluation in the SUS.
