This research is important because there are no studies that deal on these issues in an interrelated way, making it hard even to build a body of epistemology from the Science Occupation. The GENERAL OBJECTIVE of this research is: to understand the form and meaning of body and occupation of the discourse of subjects with stroke, and specific objectives: identify the occupational history of the subjects before and after stroke based on the Science of Occupation, and check the occupational repercussions from the body of studies in occupational Therapy. METHODOLOGY: This study adopted a qualitative approach, descriptive and exploratory, used semistructured interviews to collect data. The participants were a total of 3 people with stroke sequelae entered in the Extension Project "Neurological Rehabilitation and Occupational Therapy: focus on the activities of daily living." The Faculty of Physical Therapy and Occupational Therapy was chosen as the research site. RESULTS: We note that both the form and the meaning of the body and occupations have changed as a result of stroke. In the way we perceive the changes: from the perception of changes in engagement with significant others; the time devoted to them; in areas where the occupations performed and occupational rearrangements in work, leisure and selfcare. As to the meanings related to the body have been identified: Modified; imperfect; inert; bodypain; x useless body potential body: the spiritual side. At the end of this research, we found that it was possible to achieve the proposed objective. CONCLUSION: It was possible to build a way of thinking that led us to create a body of epistemology, born of affection produced by the subjects, showing us a complex reading and true bodyoccupancystroke triad, from reading occupational science. INTRODUÇÃO: este trabalho discute como o corpo do sujeito com AVE é significado e que alterações isso pode gerar para as ocupações, levando em consideração a dimensão de forma e significado ocupacional. Esta pesquisa é relevante, pois não existem trabalhos que tratem sobre estes temas de forma interrelacionada, tornandoo forte até mesmo para construção de uma epistemologia de corpo a partir da Ciência da Ocupação. O OBJETIVO GERAL desta pesquisa é: compreender a forma e o significado de corpo e ocupação presentes nos discursos de sujeitos com AVE, e como objetivos específicos: identificar o histórico ocupacional dos sujeitos antes e após o AVE com base na Ciência da Ocupação, além de verificar as repercussões ocupacionais a partir dos estudos do corpo em Terapia Ocupacional. METODOLOGIA: Este estudo adotou uma abordagem qualitativa, de caráter descritivo e exploratório, utilizou a entrevista semiestruturada para a coleta de dados. Participaram da pesquisa um total de 3 pessoas com sequelas de AVE inscritas no Projeto de Extensão “Reabilitação Neurológica e Terapia Ocupacional: enfoque sobre as atividades de vida diária”. A Faculdade de Fisioterapia e Terapia Ocupacional foi escolhida como local da pesquisa. RESULTADOS: Salientamos que tanto a forma quanto o significado do corpo e das ocupações sofreram alterações em decorrência do AVE. Na forma percebemos as mudanças: a partir da percepção das alterações no envolvimento com pessoas significativas; no tempo dedicado às mesmas; nos espaços onde as ocupações se realizavam e nos rearranjos ocupacionais no trabalho, lazer e autocuidado. Quanto aos significados, foram identificados os relacionados ao corpo: modificado; imperfeito; inerte; corpodor; corpo inútil x corpo potencial: a faceta espiritual. Ao finalizar essa pesquisa, verificamos que foi possível alcançar o objetivo proposto.
