Therefore, Occupational Therapy is a profession of supreme importance in this service because its actions contribute to the prevention of diseases/injuries and supporting health promotion. Objective: Understand the role of Occupational Therapy in Basic Health Care. Methods: This is an integrative review of the literature, through the databases: CAPES Journal‘s Portal, Occupational Therapy Journal of the University of São Paulo, Brazilian Interinstitutional Journal of Occupational Therapy and Brazilian Journal of Occupational Therapy. The studies were analyzed by the relevance test I and II, the data were processed in the IRAMUTEQ software and analyzed by word cloud and similitude. Results/Discussion: The sample consisted of 25 studies, which indicate that the Occupational Therapy in BC should act along with the population with characteristics of mental suffering, deficiencies and disabilities, aiming to mediate in the singularity and subjectivity of the subject, in this way, the occupational therapists presents elements that can effectively contribute to improving the health of the population. It is also worth mentioning the importance of new publications that contribute to the scientific community. Introdução: A Atenção Básica (AB) é o nível primário de atenção à saúde que oferece entrada em todo o sistema nacional, para atender as necessidades da população, de forma a organizar, tanto os serviços básicos quanto os mais especializados, direcionados para a promoção, manutenção e melhoria da saúde. Diante disso, a Terapia Ocupacional se mostra uma profissão de suma importância neste serviço por suas ações contribuírem para a prevenção de doenças/agravos e favorecimento da promoção de saúde. Objetivo: Compreender a atuação da Terapia Ocupacional na Atenção Básica de Saúde. Métodos: Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa da literatura, através das bases de dados: Portal de Periódicos da CAPES, Revista de Terapia Ocupacional da USP, Revista Interinstitucional Brasileira de Terapia Ocupacional e Cadernos Brasileiros de Terapia Ocupacional. Os estudos foram analisados pelo teste de relevância I e II, os dados foram processados no software IRAMUTEQ e analisados pela nuvem de palavras e similitude. Resultados/Discussão: A amostra foi composta por 25 estudos, que apontam que a Terapia Ocupacional na AB deve atuar junto a população com características de sofrimento mental, deficiências e incapacidades, objetivando intervir na singularidade e subjetividade do sujeito, sendo que o terapeuta ocupacional apresenta elementos em sua formação que podem efetivamente contribuir para melhorar a saúde da população.
