Introduction: Death is something inherent in human existence, but feared by many, in a certain
way, becomes a less discussed subject and, in some cases, understood with some strangeness
or a non-natural phenomenon. Mourning can be occasioned by a lot of reasons, but all of them
by the loss of something or someone for whom one has an affectionate relationship and bond,
when there is loss and physical withdrawal, the one finds itself in a condition of mourning,
passing through a slow and painful process. Mourning can interfere in the daily lives of people
and the performance of their occupations, as they present psycho-emotional and physical
symptoms, compromising the well-being of persons. Method: It was decided to carry out a
Systematic Review, which aims to identify, select, evaluate and synthesize relevant evidence
available in the literature Results: it was possible to analyze the grievances of the bereavement
process in two categories 1. On the occupational form and 2. On the meaning and meanings and
to explore how one can understand the interferences in these fields. Final Considerations: It
was concluded that this study discusses how bereavement can affect occupations, exemplifies
and favors a better understanding that this process interferes in individuals' daily activities in a
singular way, contributes to the expansion of knowledge production, research and expressions
on the topic addressed.
