The objective was to understand the reasons that made these peasants from several Brazilian states migrate to this remote region of the Amazon. The study was developed through semi-structured questionnaires and applied to eight peasants in this municipality. The results showed the achievements and the problems experienced by the peasants, the lack of land in their home states being one of the main reasons for migration and finally the conquest of their own lands as one of the greatest achievements presented by them. Este trabalho nasce da busca por entender melhor sobre a colonização do município de Brasil Novo, Pará, a partir dos relatos dos migrantes, dos anos de 1970 a 1976. Cujo objetivo foi entender as razões que fizeram esses camponeses de diversos estados brasileiros migrarem para esta remota região da Amazônia. O estudo foi desenvolvido por meio de pesquisa com questionários semi-estruturados e aplicados a oito camponeses deste município. Os resultados alcançados apontaram as conquistas e as mazelas vivenciadas pelos camponeses, sendo a falta de terras em seus estados de origem uma dos principais motivos para a migração e por fim a conquista de terras próprias como uma das maiores conquistas apresentadas por eles. 2018-07-20T18:24:53Z 2018-07-20T18:24:53Z 2018 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Graduação MORAIS, Elton Araújo.
