This work presents an energy performance evaluation of a prototype efficient residence designed for the northern region of Brazil. This house uses the concepts of bioclimatic architecture, i.e. using local climatic peculiarities in their favor, in order to reduce the electricity consumption. In this work is described the building and the systems deployed in it, as the solar water heating system, the grid-connected photovoltaic system (SFCR) with 1820 Wp nominal power and the monitoring system of the building. Based on the data acquired by monitoring the House over a year, are presented results of energy consumption in the House and the production and performance of SFCR, so it is presented a study of the contribution of electricity produced by SFCR in reducing the monthly consumption of the residence from the utility. The energy performance evaluation will also deal a simulation for the following situations: for a family "conscious" about the rational use of energy residing in the building under study, for a "non-conscious" family residing in the building under study, for a "conscious" family residing in a building of the same standard, but that does not make energy use more efficiently than the previous residence, and finally to a “nonconscious" family residing in the building with low energy efficiency.
