The management of native açaizais (Euterpe Oleracea Mart.) began as a survival alternative to reduce predatory practice against sociobiodiversity and the guarantee of fruit production and quality. The article interviewed 10 extractive and 1 community leadership mentor of the initiative of the management of açaizais, following a combination of qualitative and quantitative data analysis, structured with a questionnaire of questions and semi-open and closed. That enhanced social, economic, environmental and cultural values and consequently presented good results in the managed areas, 90% confirmed that the application of management as an improvement in the use of the area and 10% analyzed as improved management as an awareness in the use of the area. On the other hand, 70% also stated that there was a gain in the increase in production, presence of timber, fruit and hunting species. Another 30% reported that there was a gain in the increase and quality of production, presence of timber, fruit and hunting species. Resulting in a significant increase in the average income per household with an approximate gain of 233% in value in Reais compared to income between harvests. Gains that had a positive impact on the purchasing power of families for the infrastructure sectors: housing and locomotion. O presente artigo objetiva compreender as contribuições do manejo dos açaizais para a conservação da sociobiodiversidade da comunidade Santo Antônio, localizada na Reserva Extrativista Gurupá-Melgaço, município de Gurupá, estado do Pará. O manejo dos açaizais nativos iniciou-se como alternativa de sobrevivência para diminuir a prática predatória contra a sociobiodiversidade e a garantia da produção e qualidade dos frutos. O artigo entrevistou 10 extrativista e 1 liderança comunitária mentor da inciativa do manejo de açaizais, seguindo uma combinação de análise de dados qualitativa e quantitativa, estruturado com questionário de perguntas semiaberta e fechada. Experiências e saberes tradicionais introduzidos pelos próprios extrativistas potencializaram os valores sociais, econômicos, ambientais e culturais, e consequentemente apresentaram bons resultados nas áreas manejadas: 90% confirmaram que a aplicação do manejo como melhoramento no uso da área e 10% analisaram como aprimoramento do manejo como uma tomada de consciência no uso da área. Por outro lado, 70% afirmam também que houve ganho no aumento da produção, presença de espécies madeireira, frutíferas e caça. Outras 30% relataram que houve ganho no aumento e qualidade da produção, presença de espécies madeireira, frutíferas e caça. Resultando no aumento significativo da renda média por famílias com ganho aproximado de 233% no valor em reais em comparação a renda da entre safras.
