Changes in occupational roles are frequent in everyday life and impact on the lives of the public addressed by occupational therapy. Therefore, occupational therapists, both nationally and internationally, have produced knowledge about this subject to subsidize their interventions. In the Brazilian context, these studies are still scarce. Objective: This study aimed to describe the profile of the research done by Brazilian occupational therapists on occupational roles. Methodological Procedures: This is a literature review, with a quantitative and descriptive approach. The collection of information was performed through the search for scientific articles published in national occupational therapy journals and a database from a mapping of the bibliographic production produced by Brazilian post-graduate occupational therapists. Results/Discussion: A total of 26 articles, published in 12 different journals, were found. A higher frequency of research articles with a quantitative, cross-sectional and descriptive approach was observed. Concerning the population, the prevalence of female subjects in the adult and elderly age groups was identified, with some functionality compromise. Final Considerations: Knowing the profile of Brazilian publications on occupational roles enable to understand the research strategies adopted, the publics addressed and the main contributions to the field of occupational therapy. Introdução: Os papéis ocupacionais estão associados ao comportamento humano, às expectativas sociais produzidas em uma determinada realidade, além de contribuir para a percepção da identidade pessoal e a organização e o uso do tempo. Alterações nos papéis ocupacionais são frequentes na vida cotidiana e impactam na vida do público abordado pela terapia ocupacional. Dessa forma, os terapeutas ocupacionais, tanto no âmbito nacional quanto internacional, têm produzido conhecimento acerca dessa temática para subsidiar suas intervenções. No contexto brasileiro, essas pesquisas ainda são escassas. Objetivo: Este estudo objetivoudescrever o perfil das pesquisas feitas por terapeutas ocupacionais brasileiros sobre os papéis ocupacionais. Procedimentos Metodológicos: Trata-se de uma revisão da literatura, de abordagem quantitativa e descritiva. A coleta de informações foi realizada por meio da busca de artigos científicos publicados em periódicos de terapia ocupacional nacionais e em uma base de dados oriunda de um mapeamento da produção bibliográfica produzida por terapeutas ocupacionais brasileiros pós-graduados. Resultados/Discussão: Encontrou-se ao todo 26 artigos, publicados em 12 periódicos diferentes. Observou-se uma maior frequência de artigos de pesquisa com abordagem quantitativa, transversal e descritiva. Quanto ao público-alvo, identificou-se a prevalência de pessoas do gênero feminino, nas faixas etárias adulta e idosa, com algum comprometimento na funcionalidade.
