First, an overview of the different existing distribution system is made, followed by a general study of short circuit in what refers to the distribution system, it is highlighted the main classifications and characteristics of the functioning and dimensioning of the protection devices. On the resultads, is possible to observe the single line diagram of the real feeder in study, which is disposed in 57 substation bus bars. Hence, the choice of the protection devices and its dimensioning, the analysis and evaluation of the protection are made aiming to achieve an optimal coordination and selectivity between the devices via time/current characteristic curves. Este trabalho apresenta estudos de fluxo de carga, curto-circuito e proteção de um alimentador real de distribuição com o auxílio dos softwares ANAREDE e ANAFAS. Inicialmente faz-se uma abordagem dos diferentes sistemas de distribuição existentes, seguido de um enfoque geral no estudo de curto-circuito. Na proteção do sistema de distribuição são destacadas as principais classificações e características de funcionamento e dimensionamento dos dispositivos de proteção. Nos resultados tem-se o diagrama unifilar do alimentador real em estudo, o qual é disposto de 57 barras além da subestação.
