The present work has as its theme the first Baptism Books of the Metropolitan Curia of Belém. It seeks to understand what are the aspects of authenticity of the baptismal documents of the Curia, as well as their relation to the document Birth Certificate. It presents as a general objective to understand the structure of the Baptism document of the Curia Metropolitana de Belém and relate it to the Birth Certificate, in order to identify the elements of authenticities of both. For Tognoli and Ferreira (2017), Ecclesiastical Archives represent a valuable and immense collection, many record facts and events that concern both the church and the producing institution, as well as of public interest. As for the methodological procedures, it is based on bibliographic and documentary research of qualitative, descriptive and exploratory analysis carried out in the Archives of the Curia Metropolitana de Belém. The research is justified by the participation in the extension project: Spreading Archives: revealing memories and telling stories of the Archivology course of the Federal University of Pará (UFPA). In the results of the diplomatic analysis it is possible to understand the structure of the document and its context of elaboration, as well as the relationship with the producing institution.
