Resumo:
He environment is constantly affected by changes that alter biogeochemical cycles, promoting effects that contribute to climate change. In urban areas, it is clear that the removal of vegetation by anthropogenic means causes drastic consequences for the ecosystem and climate patterns of large cities. In this sense, the present study aimed to carry out a multitemporal analysis of the years 2017 and 2022, determining and characterizing the vegetation cover for the municipality of Belém-PA, using mapping and monitoring techniques through the use of images. of the Planet Scope satellite with 5m spatial resolution and the determination of the Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), in association with socio-environmental indicators. According to the results achieved, it was determined that the urban center of Belém has considerable vegetation deficits, where there was a reduction of 5%. neighborhoods, with emphasis on the district of Guamá. Furthermore, there was an increase of 6% compared to 2017 to 2022, representing 15 of the 71 neighborhoods with less than 15 m² of green area per inhabitant. On the other hand, the neighborhoods furthest from the center have a high surplus, with the districts of Mosqueiro and Outeiro being highlighted. It can be concluded that the absence of adequate planning and the lack of a public policy that ensures goals and prioritizes the conservation and preservation of urban trees, as well as the application of sustainable development objectives, generates an enclave that makes it difficult to search for effective actions to reduce social inequality, and consequently, show the regression affecting even the economy of cities.
