The general objective of this study was to investigate the challenges and perspectives of teaching LIBRAS to deaf students in a regular classroom in a school in the municipality of Soure. The research is qualitative (Minayo, 2004). The data collection instrument was a semi-structured interview with the LIBRAS interpreter at the school. After data collection, content analysis was carried out according to Bardin (1977). The results show that the educational organization in the mu- nicipality of Soure, from the perspective of inclusive education, is recent and that the students of the degree course in Portuguese Language/LIBRAS themselves began to work to make the population of Soure aware of the rights to education of deaf people living in the city, many of whom had already passed the age of schooling. From this, it can be concluded that even though it is recognized by law as a legal means of communication and expression, especially for the deaf community, the Brazilian Sign Language (LIBRAS) is not yet a compulsory curricular component in schools, which makes the teaching of LIBRAS in educational institutions unpretentious and irrelevant. Este trabalho está situado no campo da educação especial discute sobre os desafios e perspectivas docente no ensino de LIBRAS em uma escola no município de Soure/PA. O objetivo geral desse estudo pautou na investigação acerca dos desafios e as perspectivas docentes no ensino de LIBRAS para estudantes surdos na sala de aula regular de ensino em uma escola no município de Soure. A pesquisa é de cunho qualitativa (Minayo, 2004). O instrumento de coleta de dados foi a entrevista semiestruturada realizada com a interprete de LIBRAS da referida escola. Após a coleta de dados realizou-se a análise de conteúdo conforme Bardin (1977). Como resultados é possível considerar que a organização educacional no município de Soure, na perspectiva da educação inclusiva, é recente e que a partir dos próprios alunos do curso de licenciatura em letras língua portuguesa/ LIBRAS, começam a desenvolver um trabalho de conscientizar a população sourense sobre os direitos à educação das pessoas surdas que viviam na cidade, sendo que muitas já haviam passado da idade de escolarização. A partir disso, conclui-se que mesmo sendo reconhecida por lei, como meio legal de comunicação e expressão, especialmente, para a comunidade surda, a Língua Brasileira de Sinais (LIBRAS), nas escolas, ainda não é componente curricular obrigatório, o que torna despretensioso e irrelevante o ensino de LIBRAS nas instituições de ensino. 2024-01-30T12:53:07Z 2024-01-30T12:53:07Z 2023-12-15 Trabalho de Curso - Graduação - Monografia VITELLI, Anderson Souza.
