For that purpose, three tests were utilized, applied on the clinic where the project takes place: the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale, the Body Appreciation Scale-2 and the Geriatric Depression Scale. The two former tests were applied by the author while the latter, used as a means of result comparison, was applied by other researchers in the project. The results of the research showed inconsistencies between the results shown and the life experiences told by the participants, as well as a significant difference between the results of the recurring participants and those starting on the program. These results led to questionings and suppositions about their reasons, thus leading to a discussion about the sensibility of the tests itselfs, as well as the relationship between the patients and the shame of showing themselves as unhappy with their bodies, lives and life experiences. A pesquisa ambientada no projeto Baila Parkinson tem como objetivo analisar os efeitos da prática de dança na autoestima e autoimagem de pacientes com Doença de Parkinson. Para isso, foram utilizados três testes aplicados dentro da clínica onde o projeto funciona: a Escala de Autoestima de Rosenberg, a Body Appreciation Scale 2 e a Escala de Geriátrica de Depressão. Os dois primeiros testes foram realizados pela autora e o último, utilizado como fonte para comparação de resultados, foi aplicado por outros pesquisadores do projeto. Os resultados da pesquisa mostraram inconsistências entre os resultados apresentados e as vivências contadas pelos participantes, assim como uma diferença significante entre os resultados dos participantes recorrentes e os ingressantes no programa.
