The species Chelonoidis denticulata, commonly known as the yellow-footed tortoise or jabuti-tinga, belongs to the suborder Cryptodira and is characterized by yellowish scales. These animals are ectothermic and their main feature is the presence of a ventral plastron and a vertebral column attached to the dorsal carapace (Hickman, et al., 2008). Reproductive problems are common in reptiles kept in captivity, including cloacal prolapse and follicular stasis. Cloacal prolapse consists of the displacement and exposure of the internal tissues of the cloaca outside their anatomical position, while follicular stasis refers to the retention of follicles in the ovaries without progression to ovulation, which may result in follicular atresia (Chitty, 2013). Both conditions affect the animal's reproductive system and quality of life. This paper reports the case of an adult female Chelonoidis denticulata admitted to the Wildlife Veterinary Hospital of the Federal University of Pará (HVSAS - UFPA), presenting recurrent rectal prolapse. During the hospitalization period, imaging exams allowed the identification and diagnosis of follicular stasis, leading to the need for surgical intervention to correct the condition. After undergoing two surgical procedures and staying hospitalized for 10 months, the patient is now cured and has been discharged from the hospital. Os quelônios são membros da classe Reptilia, subclasse Anapsida e ordem Chelonia (Cubas, et al., 2014), e podem ser divididos em duas subordens: Cryptodira e Pleurodira (Marder, 2019). A espécie Chelonoidis denticulata, conhecida popularmente como jabuti-tinga ou jabuti-amarelo, pertence à subordem Cryptodira e é caracterizada pelas escamas de coloração amarelada. Esses animais são ectotérmicos e possuem como principal característica um plastrão ventral e uma coluna vertebral fixada à carapaça dorsal (Hickman,et al., 2008). Problemas reprodutivos são comuns em répteis criados em cativeiro, incluindo o prolapso de cloaca e a estase folicular. O prolapso de cloaca consiste no deslocamento e exposição dos tecidos internos da cloaca para fora da posição anatômica, enquanto a estase folicular refere-se à retenção dos folículos nos ovários sem progressão para ovulação, podendo resultar em atresia folicular (Chitty, 2013). Ambas as condições afetam o aparelho reprodutor e a qualidade de vida dos animais. O presente trabalho relata o caso de uma fêmea adulta da espécie Chelonoidis denticulata que foi admitida no Hospital Veterinário Setor de Animais Silvestres da Universidade Federal do Pará (HVSAS - UFPA) apresentando prolapso cloacal recorrente. Durante a internação, exames de imagem permitiram identificar e diagnosticar estase folicular, o que levou à necessidade de intervenção cirúrgica para correção da condição através de celiotomia.
