The data collection was carried out through interviews with 22 (twenty two) local creators, with the questionnaires application, containing questions pre-established, during the period of june to october of 2015, including the following requisites: The form as these bees are created; The form of acquisition of colonies; Identification of the hive models used; Description of the capture techniques and multiplication of colonies; Knowledge of the creators about the flora meliponicola; The aim of the rearing, and the forms of packaging honey. The results demonstrate that the practices used by these farmers are typically empirical, rustic and traditional, passed on between the creators orally and with the main intention of getting the honey. Stingless bee farming is still not widespread among people, making it necessary to access the farmers and discuss from their experiences ways to improve stingless bee farming in the community, emphasizing the relation with the environment, the adhesion of sustainable practices, keeping in mind the objective of generating labor occupation, as an extra income source and stimulating the consumption of stingless bee products. O presente trabalho teve como objetivo descrever as técnicas de criação da Uruçu cinzenta (Melipona fasciculata, Smith, 1854), espécie de abelha sem ferrão nativa da região Amazônica, manejada pelos pequenos agricultores da comunidade de Tamatateua, Município de Bragança- PA. A coleta de dados foi realizada por meio de entrevistas com 22 (vinte e dois) criadores (Meliponicultores) locais, com a aplicação de questionários in loco, contendo questões pré estabelecidas, e ocorreram durante o período de junho a outubro de 2015, com abordagem aos seguintes quesitos: A forma como essas abelhas são criadas; A forma de aquisição de colônias; Identificação dos modelos de caixas utilizadas; Descrição das técnicas de captura e multiplicão de colônias; conhecimento dos criadores acerca da flora meliponícola; objetivo da criação e formas de acondicionamento do mel. Os resultados demonstram que as práticas utilizadas por esses agricultores são tipicamente empíricas, rusticas e tradicionais, repassadas entre os criadores oralmente e com o intuito principal de obtenção do mel. A criação racional de abelhas sem ferrão, ainda é pouco difundida, entre os criadores de abelhas na comunidade, se fazendo necessário acessar esses criadores e discutir a partir de suas experiências, maneiras de melhorar o avanço das práticas de meliponicultura na comunidade, enfatizando a relação com o meio ambiente, na adesão de práticas sustentáveis, tendo o objetivo de gerar ocupação de mão de obra, complementação da renda e estímulo do consumo dos produtos dessas abelhas. 2024-09-04T20:16:48Z 2024-09-04T20:16:48Z 2018-01-26 Trabalho de Conclusão de Curso - Graduação MONTEIRO, Gerson Piedade.
