The survey of these theses aims to understand potential temporal and geographical trends and their main focuses. The study highlights a notable increase in academic production in the last five years, especially in 2019 and 2020, indicating a growing interest in the field. The Southeast region leads in the number of productions, followed by the Northeast, revealing geographical disparities in research within this domain. The analysis indicates that the majority of research was conducted in public institutions, emphasizing the crucial role of the state in promoting scientific production. Research from these theses on zoology teaching predominantly focuses on high school, with over half of the studies investigating students' conceptions and perceptions, providing valuable insights into the educational needs of this group. The significant growth of Professional Master's programs since 2016 suggests a more equitable distribution of research across the country. However, there is a notable absence of doctoral research in the area, pointing to possible structural or interest-related challenges at this academic level. The qualitative analysis of abstracts reveals that research also explores different educational environments, with almost half taking place in 'non-formal' settings. This diversified approach demonstrates the importance given to the use of spaces such as museums and science centers to enhance zoology teaching. In summary, this study not only provides an overview of the current landscape of zoology teaching in Brazil but also highlights areas of emphasis and gaps in research, contributing to future educational strategies and more informed and effective public policies. Este trabalho realiza uma abrangente análise do estado atual do Ensino de Zoologia no Brasil, utilizando como base 65 Dissertações de Mestrado e Teses de Doutorado (DTs), abarcando o período de 1995 a 2022. Essas levantamento das DTs visam compreender as possíveis tendências temporais e geográficas e seus principais focos. O estudo destaca um aumento notável na produção acadêmica nos últimos cinco anos, especialmente nos anos de 2019 e 2020, indicando um crescente interesse na área. A região Sudeste lidera em número de produções, seguida pelo Nordeste, evidenciando disparidades geográficas na realização de pesquisas nesse domínio. A análise aponta que a maioria das pesquisas foi conduzida em instituições públicas, ressaltando o papel crucial do Estado na promoção da produção científica. As pesquisas das (DTs) sobre o Ensino de Zoologia concentra-se predominantemente no ensino médio, sendo que mais de metade das pesquisas investiga as concepções e percepções dos discentes, oferecendo uma visão valiosa sobre as necessidades educacionais desse grupo. Destaca-se o crescimento significativo do Mestrado Profissional a partir de 2016, sugerindo uma distribuição mais equitativa das pesquisas pelo país. No entanto, observa-se uma ausência notável de pesquisas de doutorado na área, apontando para possíveis desafios estruturais ou de interesse nesse nível acadêmico. A análise qualitativa dos resumos revela que as pesquisas também exploram diferentes ambientes educacionais, com quase metade ocorrendo em locais 'não formais'. Esse enfoque diversificado demonstra a importância dada ao uso de espaços como museus e centros de ciência para aprimorar o ensino de Zoologia.
