Culture is a set of artistic, social, and religious manifestations that characterize a society, differentiating it from others. Taking into account the concept of culture, we understand that Brazil is a multicultural country, where different cultures intertwine and transform throughout history, originating a rich cultural heritage. This paper aimed to present the essential participation of ACLA (Academia Capanemense de Letras e Artes)[Academy of Letters and Arts from Capanema] in the preservation and dissemination of local culture, organizing literary events, promoting artistic production, and encouraging reading in the city of Capanema in the state of Pará, as well as describing the founding process and history of ACLA in the region. This work was developed through Field research and bibliographical qualitative research. The Data were collected by interviews, which were recorded and transcribed. Based on the analysis, it was possible to consider how culture, through ACLA, is disseminated in the most varied forms of art, throughout the national and international territory, taking regional culture beyond borders. Thus, we consider the importance of documenting the trajectory of the Academy to the present day, allowing us to understand the role of academies of letters in the construction of the cultural identity of a region, serving as a reference to even more detailed research in the future. |
