Over the years, the growing demand for new digital services has driven the development
of new technologies capable of providing the required transmission rates. In this context,
the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) developed the fourth generation of
fixed broadband technologies over metallic cables under the G.fast standard. Such a
solution expects to achieve rates in the order of Gbps using frequencies of a few hundred
MHz and short metallic cables. This work presents the development of a software for the
evaluation of metallic cables with potential use in G.fast networks. The software aims to
help hybrid network projects that use metallic cables in the nal segments of internet
signal distribution. |
