It has as general objective: to elaborate a bibliometric analysis of the collection that belonged to Raimundo Jinkings; and as specific objectives: a) to identify the most frequent authors in the corpus under study; b)
to investigate the publishers who produced the
works of Jinkings loved; c) ascertain the years
of the publications studied; d) check what the
predominant themes in the collection under
analysis. It was a biobibliographical research,
with a quantitative-qualitative cut and to make
it feasible, consultations were made with the aforementioned inventory of the collection, composed of 1,714 books. It was verified that: a) The authors most read by Jinkings belonged to different areas of performance; but in their great majority militated the socialist ideology; b) there was a great recurrence of publishing houses whose editorial lines were directed to the areas of Human Sciences, Letters and Arts and Applied Social Sciences and that consequently were publishers had many works confiscated by the Department of Political and Social Order
(DOPS); c) the age of the collection focused on the decades of 60s, 70s and 80s of the twentieth century; and, d) Political Science, Social Sciences and Economics were the most frequent topics. However it is noticed that Journalism occupies a prominent place in the collection. It is concluded that although the subject is centered on the Library Science, it is noted that other areas of knowledge, which can also make use of
bibliometric techniques to select classical literature pertinent to their studies, especially if we consider a collection as rich and eclectic like that of Raymond Jinkings. |
