The Amazon has the largest river basin in the world, with 20% of the planet's
freshwater, made up of more than 20,000 km of navigable waterways and with
1/3 of the world's humid tropical forests. The Amazon represents almost 65% of
the Brazilian territory. However, the Amazon suffers from serious data
communication infrastructure problems, which undermines the level of
socioeconomic development in the region. The geographical characteristics of
the Amazon favor the means of river transport that serves the transport of cargo
and passengers in the region. This work sought to present how the main IoT
devices perform in a river environment, applied in the Catalão riverside
community. The results showed that the devices have excellent wireless
communication in this region of the Rio Negro, although the environment is not
the most common application, the results serve as a basis for investment
incentives. |
