This study aimed to make an ethnobotanical survey in the riverside community
of Joarité, city of Careiro Castanho AM, in order to identify the species used in folk
medicine, the plant organ used, how to use and therapeutic purposes. A semi-structured
questionnaire was applied to residents of the community. We identified 36 plant species,
distributed in 25 families, the most cited were: 11% Lamiaceae, Euphorbiaceae and
Rutaceae 8% any one. The leave are the most widely used and tea is the most usual way
of cooking. The main diseases mentioned were: flu, colic and diarrhea. The study shows
that the conventional wisdom regarding the use of plants for medicinal purposes is
important, since the riparian take ownership of the plant resources available in their
backyards, to treat various diseases, as plants are the main resource of theresidents in the
fight diseases. |
