The present work is part of the research line Organization and Memories of Pedagogical Spaces in Technological and Professional Education. In this research line, we seek to identify the directions that guide the implementation of extension activities at Federal Institute of Amazonas (IFAM) and their contributions to the integral human formation of students from Technical and Professional Education at Secondary School (EPTNM). This work is a field study, carried out with students of Secondary School and teachers who are participants of the Program of Extension Scholarships of Federal Institute of Amazonas, in 2019. Applying qualitative research, we used the dialectical approach method, with steps of bibliographic research, documentation, and field study. The technique of semistructured interview was conducted in a sampling of 10 students and 6 teachers, who are participants in the extension projects, in addition to the systematic observation during the follow up of the activities. We employed the technique of contents analysis for the processing and interpretation of data. As results, we highlight the contributory aspects in the improvement and learning of skills in academic, professional, and personal context as well as the awakening to social participation initiatives. However, some challenges are still present, namely in the articulation involving teaching and research, or in the development of interdisciplinary activities in extension practices. As an educational product, we created a booklet that has the objective to encourage the participation and to orientate about the possibilities of future developments in extension projects. As atividades de extensão, juntamente com os eixos ensino e pesquisa, fornecem contribuições formativas para os seus participantes, que envolvem os aspectos da formação humana integral e alcance social. O presente trabalho faz parte da linha de pesquisa Organização e Memórias de Espaços Pedagógicos em Educação Profissional e Tecnológica, em que buscamos identificar os critérios que orientam a implementação das atividades de extensão no Instituto Federal do Amazonas (IFAM) e as contribuições dessas para a formação humana integral dos discentes da Educação Profissional e Técnica de Nível Médio (EPTNM). Trata-se de um estudo de campo realizado com alunos do ensino médio e professores participantes do Programa Institucional de Bolsas de extensão (PIBEX) do IFAM no ano 2019. Por meio de pesquisa qualitativa, utilizamos método de abordagem dialético, com etapas de levantamento bibliográfico, documental e pesquisa de campo. A técnica de entrevista semiestruturada foi aplicada com amostra de 10 alunos e 6 professores integrantes dos projetos, além da observação sistemática durante acompanhamento das atividades. Para o tratamento e interpretação dos dados, utilizamos a técnica de análise de conteúdo. Como resultados, destacamos os aspectos contributivos no aprimoramento e aquisição de habilidades no contexto acadêmico, profissional e pessoal, bem como despertar para iniciativas em participação social. Todavia, alguns desafios ainda são presentes, seja na articulação junto ao ensino e pesquisa, ou no desenvolvimento de atividades interdisciplinares na prática de extensão. Como produto educacional, elaboramos uma cartilha que objetiva incentivar a participação e orientar quanto as possibilidades de desenvolvimento de futuros projetos de extensão.
