This article presents the development of a low-cost 3D printer through fusion and deposition modeling, using the rapid prototyping method useful for making parts in a simple, inexpensive and personalized way. The vast majority of the project's components were printed on the 3D Creality printer, others purchased at the lowest price available on the market and the rest through the used retailer. The technologies used to build the machine were due to the interdisciplinary nature of the electrical, electronic, mechanical and programming areas so that they work in a systemic way. In order to avoid overheating due to the high current demand of the system, a thermal relay was used to protect the developed project.
After assembling and calibrating the 3L Printer, quality and precision comparable to commercial printers was achieved. In addition, the overall cost of the project is below the average price of printers in the current market.
