This work aims to analyze the academic trajectory and the challenges that indigenous students face when they leave their villages to attend an undergraduate course at a university. We start from the assumption that after centuries of contact and domination, these peoples decided to appropriate the scientific knowledge to solve the daily problems arising after contact. Our research seeks to understand these issues from the life stories of indigenous students enrolled in undergraduate courses at UFAM and UEA in the municipality of Humaitá - AM. The data showed, among other things, that the financial aspect is one of the biggest challenges in the journey of students who leave their villages to study in urban centers. Nos últimos anos observa-se um aumento expressivo de matrículas de alunos indígenas nas universidades públicas brasileiras, esse aumento foi potencializado pela política de ações afirmativas, que possibilitaram o acesso dos alunos indígenas ao ensino superior. Este trabalho objetiva analisar a trajetória acadêmica e os desafios que os estudantes indígenas enfrentam ao sair de suas aldeias para cursarem uma graduação em uma universidade. Partimos do pressuposto que após séculos de contato e dominação, estes povos decidiram se apropriar dos saberes científicos para resolverem os problemas do cotidiano advindos pós-contato. Nossa pesquisa busca entender essas questões a partir das histórias de vida dos estudantes indígenas matriculados nos cursos de graduação da UFAM e da UEA no município de Humaitá - AM. Os dados evidenciaram entre outras coisas, que o aspecto financeiro é um dos maiores desafios na jornada dos estudantes que saem de suas aldeias para estudar nos centros urbanos. 5 Ter porcentagem de conclusão durante processo de auto-arquivamento.
