The diversity of plants with ornamental potential in the Amazonian flora is vast. Therefore, the choice of theme was a starting point for valuing the diversity of plants with ornamental potential. In this way, a deeper study was carried out on these plants, obtaining knowledge, in addition to rescuing the importance of plant species with the ornamental potential found in the trails of the Institute of Nature and Culture (INC/UFAM). Thus, the objectives proposed in the work were to analyze the ornamental potential of existing plants in the forest area of the INC/UFAM, carrying out a floristic survey and identification of species that resulted in the development of a 'Field Guide'. The field methodological procedures were the registration and collection of biotic and abiotic data, seeking the morphological, phenological and rusticity characters of the individuals of the plants found. Through the work developed, it was possible to carry out an exploration in the forest area of the INC, with collections to identify plants with ornamental potential, and thus demonstrate the possibilities of using plants both for their beauty and for their multiplicity of use, valuing the local flora.
