Resumo:
This research had as a general objective to understand how the Itinerant Library Project in Companies, developed by SESC – AM, promotes the encouragement of reading. To achieve the general objective, the following specific objectives were outlined: a) to show the relevance of the traveling library to encourage reading in contemporary society; b) describe how the Traveling Library Project in Companies was structured, since its creation; c) identify the reading incentive strategies adopted by the Itinerant Library Project in Companies and d) point out the results obtained through the offer of the Itinerant Library Project in Companies, from the beginning of its implementation. A qualitative, exploratory, descriptive, bibliographical and field research research was carried out. The SESC-AM Library constituted the universe of field research, and the institution's librarians, the research subjects or participants, whose data collection instrument was the semi-structured interview applied to those responsible for the project analyzed in the research. From the analysis of the data, made from the content analysis, it was realized that it is necessary to carry out projects that encourage reading and these are important tools for employee satisfaction if implemented in the work environment, in addition to of needing input from all parties involved in order to be implemented. It was concluded that, through this case study, it was possible to verify that the Itinerant Library project in SESC Amazonas Companies encourages reading in the environments in which it is applied, contributing to the formation of new readers, and consequently, promoting intellectual development and social of the community.
