This work aims to analyze the main monetary policy measures during the pandemic and
the effects on the Brazilian economy, exclusively through monetary policies in this
period. Transmission mechanisms are fundamental for policy control in times of crisis,
from which he identified the monetary policy actions adopted during the pandemic. In
this way, the collection of data and documents made available by the national financial
institutions, which refers to the research analysis of the behavior of the level of economic
activity, unemployment rate, inflation rate and fiscal indicator in this period. The final
result of the research was a descriptive analysis of the data obtained, which takes into
account the economic approach of transmission mechanisms, of which one of the
conclusions, the fact that it is not an inflation of demand but of cost, in addition to the
does not effectively combat inflation arising from the factor cost front, the main source
of inflationary shocks in the Brazilian economy, makes the mechanism itself ineffective
in combating inflation, thus not helping the country to mitigate the impacts in times of
crisis.
