Since the discovery of the virus, the role of the physiotherapist who works in the prevention and rehabilitation of respiratory deficiencies and in the functional limitations of daily activities caused by it has been highlighted. This professional works in the recovery of such skills, having therapeutic exercise and ventilatory support as their main work tool. In light of the above, this study tends to show the importance of physical therapists in restoring the health of patients and also the need to promote the return to full functionality of patients cured of COVID-19 who had respiratory problems. This is an integrative, qualitative review, in which publications were raised on the theme "physiotherapy in respiratory treatment" with an emphasis on "covid-19", disseminated in internet databases, ScientificElectronic Library Online (SciELO) , Latin American and Caribbean Literature (LILACS), United States National Library of Medicine (MEDLINE) from June 30, 2020 to June 30, 2021. 76 articles were identified from the selected descriptors and using the exclusion criteria, 70 of these were eliminated. Thus, the study sample had 6 articles. The results presented are statistically significant and have been reducing the signs of respiratory distress, showing patients an effective improvement. The role of physiotherapy services is to treat the patients' general functional level while taking respiratory symptoms into account. In this review, it was possible to identify which treatments and care techniques were offered to patients who had severe complications from covid-19 and the propaedeutics offered by physical therapy professionals. A doença causada pelo novo coronavírus denominada SARS-CoV-2, é uma infecção que compromete e causa distúrbios no sistema respiratório, foi identificada pela primeira vez na província de Hubei na cidade de Wuham/China, no final de 2019, sendo declarada pela Organização Mundial da Saúde (OMS) como pandemia em 11 de março de 2020. Desde a descoberta do vírus destaca- se a atuação do fisioterapeuta que atua na prevenção e reabilitação de deficiências respiratórias e nas limitações funcionais da atividade de vida diária por ela ocasionadas. Este profissional atua na recuperação de tais habilidades, tendo como principal ferramenta de trabalho, o exercício terapêutico e o suporte ventilatório. Diante do exposto o presente estudo tende mostrar a importância dos fisioterapeutas para o restabelecimento da saúde dos pacientes e também a necessidade de promover o retorno à plena funcionalidade de pacientes curados da COVID-19 que apresentaram problemas respiratórios. Trata-se de uma revisão integrativa, do tipo qualitativa, em que foram levantadas as publicações acerca da temática “fisioterapia no tratamento respiratório ” com ênfase na “ covid-19”, disseminadas em bases de dados da internet, ScientificElectronic Library Online (SciELO), Literatura latino-americana e do Caribe (LILACS), United States National Library of Medicine (MEDLINE) no período de 30 de junho de 2020 a 30 de junho de 2021. Foram identificados 76 artigos a partir dos descritores selecionados e com a utilização dos critérios de exclusão, foram eliminados 70 destes. Desse modo, a amostra do estudo contou com 6 artigos. Os resultados apresentados, são estatisticamente significativos e vem reduzindo os sinais de dificuldade respiratória, mostrando o quadro de melhora eficaz aos pacientes. O papel de serviços de fisioterapia é tratar o nível funcional geral dos enfermos enquanto tomam em consideração os sintomas respiratórios.
