The objective of this research was to analyze how the Basic Sanitation theme of the city of Parintins is covered on the Repórter Parintins website, from a qualitative-quantitative perspective. As a study corpus, we outlined the news published on the Repórter Parintins website that deal with contents related to Basic Sanitation in the city. For this, Content Analysis (CA) developed by Bardin (1977) was chosen as a methodological procedure for organizing and analyzing data, together with the selection of guiding principles of Journalism, based on de Kovach and Rosenstiel, which served as basis for the elaboration of Precision and Plurality analysis categories. The analysis of the Precision category revealed the adoption of precise language in the articles, indicating satisfactory results in the precision and veracity of the information. In the Plurality criterion, the official source (represented by voices from the public power) is present in most headlines (66.6%), with few contributions from ordinary citizens representing the people (33.4%) and no contribution from experts and influential people. The journalistic coverage of Basic Sanitation on the website in question is given in an informative way, with the news being the present journalistic genre. The published news had only the sense of informing the real events to the population of Parintins. The research achieved the proposed objectives, which allowed to obtain satisfactory results in terms of accuracy and veracity of information. The lack of contribution from specialists in the subjects, denotes that the reporting site does not seek to guide its audience from an expert view on the subject. Furthermore, there is no diversity in the voices of the articles, which is characterized as a negative aspect. The newspaper does not claim to be involved with “civic militancy”, as they are not committed to a critical perspective, much less contextualize issues related to Sanitation in the city, in an attempt to politicize the debate on the subject in the midst of the Parintins community.
