The objective of the present study was to describe the motivational factors in the elderly for the practice of physical activity and to define the most predominant aspects for the age group of 60 years and over in studies that have already been carried out. This is a narrative review. Data were collected in the Scientific Electronic Library Online (SciELO) database. Of the titles found, seven were selected for this review. All studies had to meet the inclusion criteria: population aged 60 years or older; studies that evaluated the motivational factors in the elderly to practice physical activity; and the publication period consistent with the last decade (2010 to 2020). After reading, eleven factors commonly present in the analyzed studies were described, among these, three aspects proved to be predominant given as priorities by the elderly, which are: "Socialization / company of friends", "Pleasure / fun" and "Health / well-being". be". Based on these aspects, a new bibliographic search was carried out to highlight these data. With the research, it was defined that the factors mainly related to health, socialization and pleasure, are the most predominant factors for this age group.
