Introduction: Man's need to occupy new spaces, whether for housing or for carrying out economic activities, has become increasingly larger, causing unplanned occupation, mainly in marginal areas to watercourses and, with that, generating negative impacts and creating environments hostile to human life. In Brazil, the mismanagement of water resources is one of the main environmental problems. Objective: To evaluate the physicochemical conditions of the surface waters of Lake Coari and the Solimões River, on the edge of the municipality of Coari, Amazonas, Brazil. Results: The results were obtained in 3 (three) months, period of accomplishment of the work. During this period, he analyzed physical-chemical parameters to determine the water quality of the Solimões River and Coari Lake, taking into account the change of flood and dry season of the water basins. Thus, the data obtained make it clear that in drought the quality of water worsens compared to the flood, this gives in relation to the increase residues found whether organic or inorganic. Conclusion: Whether rain gauge or fluviometric, in-situ analysis or solids analysis, the present work presented very significant results, it was observed the great influence the change of seasons impose on the quality of rivers.
