Decision making focused on the location of facilities is of paramount importance for organizations, whether public or private, since the location selected for the installation of the company can compromise the entire operational functioning of the same, in relation to the health area, the location can become a limiting factor in relation to full access of the population to these services. Thus, this work aimed to define the location of an Emergency Care Unit (UPA) in the city of Itacoatiara, for this we proposed the use of the Hierarchical Analysis Method (AHP), having as elements of decision making the criteria "Social Aspects, Ease of Access and Local Aspects", the subcriteria "Local Socioeconomic Condition, Population Vulnerability, Demographic Density, Local Congestion, Fire Department, Labor, and Proximity to Other Healthcare Facilities" and as alternatives "Tiradentes (site 1), Centro (site 2), São Jorge (site 3), Bairro da Paz (site 4) and Jardim Adriana (site 5)". From the value judgments of the decision elements, which are part of the AHP, and the priority calculations performed in Super Decisions, it was possible to identify the criteria and subcriteria that have greater impact on the objective, and the most suitable locations for the location of the UPA, thus alternative 4 proved to be the most preferable option to house the UPA, followed by location 5 and 1. A sensitivity analysis was performed to verify the behavior of the alternatives with the variation in the criteria weights, where in some preference intervals there was a change in the ranking of the alternatives.
