Resumo:
The greatest source of energy produced today in the universe is the luminosity of the stars, among them our Sun, which with its light provides the conditions for life on the planet. The main objective of this work is to present the theoretical aspects of the production of all this energy, a consequence of nuclear fusion and quantum tunneling, in addition to the various experimental projects that seek to master the process based on the same principle. In this context, a broad literature review on the subject was carried out, from which it was possible to analyze and select the results presented here. It has been found that the Sun's energy production is governed by nuclear fusion, in addition to a possibility of quantum tunneling, and research projects are getting promising results.
