Resumo:
Given that there is a significant gender disparity in the labor market in the state of Amazonas, this study aimed to analyze the Amazonas female labor market from 2012 to 2021 in order to understand the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic on women's participation. To achieve this, it was necessary to identify the age and race of women in the workforce, assess the level of education, and distinguish the activities performed by women and the income obtained. A descriptive analysis of microdata from the PNAD Contínua and a literature review focusing on the labor market were conducted. The research findings indicate a reduction in the female workforce, persistent occupational segregation, and an increase in the wage gap between men and women, leading to the conclusion that the COVID-19 pandemic has exacerbated gender inequalities in the labor market.
