Basic Weightlifting or Powerlifting (PL), is a force sport that involves three basic
bodybuilding movements: squat, supine and ground-lifting. The Brazilian
Confederation of Basic Surveys (CBLB) is responsible for directing the sport in Brazil
and has more than 1,293 federated athletes. This is a prospective, observational and
descriptive study. Due to pandemic scenario and all restrictive measures of the
country, the project has cont with the access link of the virtual platform Google Forms,
sent by Whatsapp message to participants. The research was formed by CBLB
athletes of both sexes, over 18 years of age who have had musculoskeletal symptoms
(SM) in the last 6 months. Musculoskeletal symptoms were collected based on the
Nordic Musculoskeletal Symptoms Questionnaire and their domains. The results
corroborate the data found in the academic literature on SM or lesions in PL, in which
the lumbar regions 58% (26), shoulders 42% (19), hip 40% (18), knees 36% are joints
that have the most incidences of SM, the literature also suggests that overload/impact
joints such as lumbar, shoulder, hip and knee are the most affected of OS in PL
athletes, this due to wrong movements, lack of preparation and insufficient rest time
between training sessions. |
