Resumo:
Introduction: Knee osteoarthritis is defined as a degenerative process that mainly affects weight-bearing joints, such as the knee. It is characterized by progressive loss of joint cartilage, leading to pain, stiffness, and limited joint function. Among the non-invasive treatments reported in the literature, photobiomodulation is mentioned as a therapeutic effect that reduces pain and improves functionality in patients with knee osteoarthritis. Objective: The objective is a systematic review protocol. Methods: Randomized clinical trials will be included, where patients with a diagnosis of knee osteoarthritis were followed over a specified period of time and received intervention. The sample will consist of individuals of both sexes, with no age restriction. The databases PEDro, MEDLINE/PubMed, EMBASE, Cochrane, and LILACS will be consulted.
