With the increasing availability of digital content across various communication channels, it
becomes increasingly essential for providers to ensure the quality of the material they offer, be
it text, images, or videos. Quality of Experience (QoE) accomplishes this task by allowing the
evaluation of the quality as perceived by the user. In the context of videos, Video Quality
Assessment (VQA) provides an estimate of the perceptual quality experienced by viewers
through the use of quality assessment metrics. VQA is widely employed to assess the quality
of video transmissions, facilitating adaptations and improvements in the systems used. In turn,
the H.264 codec plays a significant role in these transmissions, enabling compression and
greater efficiency in the systems employed for this purpose. This study aims to evaluate the
quality of experience of videos transmitted using the H.264 codec, employing two specific
types of metrics: full-reference and no-reference metrics.
