In Brazil, the rural sector has always had important economic representation, but it was
at the beginning of the 20th century that a credit system aimed specifically at this
segment began to become one of the pillars supporting rural activity and, mainly,
agricultural activity. The objective of this study was to analyze the distribution of rural
credit in the state of Amazonas, by intermediate regions, highlighting the activities
associated with this type of credit, whether livestock or agricultural, in the period from
2013 to 2022. The research was characterized as descriptive, and used secondary
data, collected from the Rural Credit Data Matrix. Such data were tabulated, using
electronic spreadsheets, to generate tables and graphs, a treatment that characterizes
a quantitative approach to the research. The number of projects financed, the amounts
granted and the classifications by activity and purpose were considered. Among the
results, it was observed that the intermediate regions where rural credit was
concentrated were Lábrea and Manaus, with the majority of resources having been
allocated for funding and investment purposes, both for livestock farming. The
research sought to contribute to a more comprehensive understanding of the variations
and trends in rural credit behavior in the state of Amazonas. |
