The general objective of this work is to analyze the relationship between the economies of the municipalities of Manacapuru and Manaus between 2002 and 2019. As for the specific objectives, the following stand out: a) analyze the demographic characteristics and the employed population of the municipalities of Manaus and Manacapuru; b) analyze the evolution of growth in the economic activity sectors of the municipalities under analysis; c) examine the main economic indicators, such as municipal Gross Domestic Product (GDP) and Value Added (VA), and the Northern Constitutional Financing Fund (FNO). Regarding the methodology, this research is called qualitative-quantitative, since both documentary research was carried out and databases were used to measure the statistics necessary to analyze the variables. In the econometric analysis, the Cobb-Douglas production function was used. The findings show that formal jobs in the agricultural, industrial and service sectors boosted economic growth in Manaus and Manacapuru, possibly through increased demand for goods and services, job creation and increased income. However, FNO investments in the Rural Zone do not seem to have influenced the increase in GDP in these municipalities. On the other hand, FNO's investments in the industrial sector presented significant results for the economy of the municipalities analyzed. |
