In this research project, a hardware and software system was developed using low-cost sensors to monitor the water quality of rivers and lakes using water and pH parameters. To do this, LoRa technology was used, with a point-to-point topology, which is capable of transmitting data up to 15 km in rural areas. The system has a mobile application, created with React Native, which synchronizes with the Firebase database in real time and displays it to the user in a simple and practical way, also giving them access to the history of the readings. Tests were carried out at the Federal University of Amazonas to validate the range and quality of the LoRa signal, using water samples from the Rio Negro, collected at Ponta Negra beach. The measurements were compared with studies carried out on rivers throughout the Amazon region. The system proved to be viable and accurate, as well as being low-cost enough to be implemented in remote locations to monitor water quality. |
