The practice of football by adolescents in environments such as schools, clubs, or youth categories of professional teams or even in social projects offers several benefits for their integral development. In addition to promoting physical activity and health, football contributes to the improvement of technical, tactical, and social skills, essential for individual growth and life in society. This study aimed to analyze the performance in technical skills of adolescents who practice football. This study was conducted with 15 male adolescents, aged 13 to 18, who practice football in the "Football in the Community" project, located at Campo do Gordo, Itaúna II neighborhood, in the municipality of Parintins-AM. To assess the participants' technical skills, tests proposed by Mor-Christian (1979) were used, which include the evaluation of: passing, dribbling, and shooting. Data collection followed the following steps: a) Contact with the Project Coordinator: Contact was made with the coordinator of the "Football in the Community" project to present the research project and request authorization for its implementation; b) Contact with the Guardians: The guardians of the children and adolescents participated in a meeting where we explained in clear and objective language the objectives of the research, the procedures to be carried out, the risks and benefits of participation, as well as the right to refuse and withdraw at any time; c) Application of the Tests. The tests were applied over 4 days, in a reserved area within the space of the "Football in the Community" project. The application of the tests was carried out by the responsible researcher together with collaborating researchers, following the instructions of the author's manual. The collected data were analyzed descriptively and presented with mean, standard deviation, minimum, and maximum. The results indicated that the adolescents are within the average of the technical skills tested when compared to the sample of the study, however, when compared to samples from other studies that used similar tests, the students are below the average. In view of the foregoing, it is concluded that the evaluated adolescents presented a level of performance in technical skills below the average when compared to other studies conducted with similar samples and test batteries." |
