Resumo:
Water quality is one of the most discussed topics around the world, it is an indispensable resource. Excessive anthropogenic processes modify the quality and standard of water, whether surface or underground, intended for human supply. In view of the above, the present work aimed to evaluate the quality of water in artesian wells in the district of Santo Antônio do Matupi, in Manicoré–AM. Six points were selected in different regions of the district during the rainy season. Using these samples, the physical-chemical and microbiological parameters were evaluated. The data were compared with Ordinance GM/MS No. 888, of May 4, 2021. The variables analyzed were Thermotolerant Coliforms, Total Coliforms, Total Dissolved Solids, Turbidity, Apparent Color, Total Iron, Total Manganese, pH, Conductivity and Temperature. The variables total phosphorus and total dissolved solids presented values within those permitted by legislation. On the other hand, the pH values indicated that almost all points collected, except P6, do not comply with current legislation. For total manganese, only sampling point P6 is above the limit recommended by the ordinance. Therefore, it is worth highlighting that, of the six points sampled, five indicated the presence of Total Coliforms. The presence of these pathogens in most of the locations studied indicates that the water is unfit for human consumption and does not meet potability standards. The assessment emphasizes the importance of continuous monitoring of water quality in the district, implementing corrective and preventive actions to ensure compliance with Brazilian regulations for water supply.
