The phylogenetic method is a technique used in evolutionary biology with the aim of hypothesizing the kinship relationships between species or populations using evolutionary trees, also called phylogenies. Phylogenetics is essential to understanding biological evolution. The objective of this article is to evaluate teaching-learning about the biological evolution of large groups using the phylogenetic method for 3rd grade high school classes at a public school in Itacoatiara-AM. The study was carried out in 2 stages, with questionnaires administered in 3 schools in Itacoatiara and in total 66 students participated. The results prove that the use of the methodological resource for teaching phylogeny made the classes more understandable. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) concluded that the didactic resource of phylogenies was efficient in improving the teaching-learning of the evolution of large groups. |
