Resumo:
This study investigates the relationship between multiplication tables and linear functions in the teaching of mathematics for ninth-grade students in the Brazilian Fundamental Education II, implemented in a public school in the state of Amazonas. Employing practical and interactive teaching methods, the aim is to explore how multiplication tables can serve as a starting point for understanding and learning linear functions. Through the identification of patterns and mathematical relationships within multiplication tables, students are encouraged to conduct their own investigations and relate these concepts to linear functions. By bridging the gap between familiar and abstract concepts, students are empowered to develop logical reasoning skills and problem-solving abilities. The results suggest that integrating multiplication tables into the teaching of linear functions can significantly contribute to the development of innovative and effective pedagogical approaches, providing a foundation for students' mathematical skills development.
