Defined as the host of the 30th UN Conference on Climate Change (COP30), Brazil becomes more aware of the increasing criticality of the environmental scenario, caused by the growing consumption of polluting energy sources, which contribute to the greenhouse effect, the urgent need for clean energy generation is evident. Therefore, the use of hydrokinetic energy, coming from rivers and tides, and captured through turbines, shows promise as it is efficient, renewable and possible to purchase with cheap and common materials. For research to be carried out in this area, aiming to increase productivity and efficiency, even in computational means, validation must come from data acquisition in a physical system similar to the one simulated. Therefore, this work aims to design a water tunnel structure within one of UFAM’s laboratories, using product development concepts, to meet customer requirements and ensure structural reliability through simulations. computational methods based on the Finite Element Method (MEF), and quality of the system flow. Furthermore, the aim is to prepare the technical drawings and the list of materials (BOM - Bill of Materials) for the bench, so that it can be built later. Therefore, the bench construction criteria at UFAM facilities were met, as well as simulations that attest to structural safety in all subsections of the final product. Furthermore, the list of materials indicated a manufacturing cost that was 200% higher than the monetary contribution available for use, highlighting the need for trade offs in the system, to reduce costs. |
