This study aims to meet the growing demand for indoor location systems, since most people spend most of their time indoors, whether at worK or at home. In this context, the present worK focuses on the evaluation of a system that uses Wi-Fi networKs with the IEEE 802.11 standard, widely adopted in indoor environments, together with the ESP32 device, which is affordable. The objective of this project is to evaluate the feasibility of implementing a location system in a small residential environment. This involves collecting Wi-Fi signals using the fingerprint technique, creating the database in the offline stage, and using the KNN algorithm to estimate the position of a given object within the residential environment in the online stage. The worK contributes to research into indoor location systems in domestic scenarios, and can be applied to home automation. |
