LGBTQIA+ people are more likely to have negative mental health outcomes, as they are exposed to stressors early and chronically, which makes them socially vulnerable. Given the above, in order to provide respectful and effective care to LGBTQIA+ people, it is up to the psychologist, in addition to not adopting pathologizing and stigmatizing practices, to have an affirmative stance that helps clients with their suffering. In this context, this study aims to identify the scientific evidence on affirmative interventions in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with LGBTQIA+ people. This is a bibliographic study of the integrative literature review type, which aimed to evaluate empirical studies published in the indexed databases PubMed, PsycInfo, Embase, Web of Science and the VHL (Virtual Health Library) and Cochrane libraries. Eight articles describing affirmative interventions in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy with people belonging to the LGBTQIA+ community were included in this review. The main interventions included in this study are in dialogue with each other and have an empirical and scientific basis, as they are consistent with scientific studies on the subject. The research analyzed, even with mostly insignificant results, is still promising, potentially effective, feasible and acceptable as a whole. |
