This work presents the development of the AMATOUR prototype, a virtual tour guide application focused on utilizing Augmented Reality (AR) technology to promote tourist destinations in the interior of the Amazonas state, Brazil. Using the Design Thinking methodology, the needs of potential users were explored, leading to a proposed application aimed at boosting tourism in the region. AMATOUR was evaluated for its ease of use, utility, and interface quality. Although some limitations were identified, the results indicate that AMATOUR is an innovative and promising tool to attract more visitors to the Amazonas. As future work, we highlight the implementation of additional features and the release of the application on the Play Store. In summary, AMATOUR represents a significant contribution to tourism in the Amazonas, offering a solution that can benefit both tourists and local communities. |
