The purpose of this study is to present a market context for family farming in the state of
Amazonas, based on secondary data from the 2017 Agricultural Census among other
sources, as well as to describe the challenges and opportunities of producers in the
municipality of Maués in marketing channels, through secondary data from Embrapa,
using the method of an interview guide/script to identify marketing channels, in addition
to specialized bibliographic references in the field of family farming. Using a methodology
that combines exploratory and explanatory approaches, both qualitative and quantitative,
this research aims to understand issues and peculiarities that involve family farmers. It
will be possible to verify the behavior of agents and farmers involved in the
commercialization of guaraná, from the perspective of the market for other products,
demonstrating limitations and opportunism, the asymmetry of information between those
involved, the socioeconomic processes of family farmers and their relationship with the
markets. The results revealed that family farming faces challenges for rural producers in
stimulating the development of local and regional markets. Despite the lack of variety in
sales channels, family farmers play an essential pillar in the preservation of biodiversity
and natural resources. |
