Resumo:
This study brings approaches to the importance of the implementation of Jiu-Jitsu sports practices in Brazilian elementary schools and its relevance to the sports practice of children and young people in school. The methodology applied for this study occurred through a literature review, based on a documental-literary board of pedagogical and sports nature on the proposed theme carried out in specific databases of the area. The bibliographic review of the main works wasselected and collected through the eligibility criteria. Among the criteria, this study was limited to including works from the last six years (2019-2024) and that were fully adapted to the school context. For other applications of methodological tools, data collection occurred secondarily through a peer review and the Snowballing methodological technique for screening bibliographies of relevant articles. The results obtained bring a positive configuration about the sport of Jiu-Jitsu in schools, highlighting the improvement of students in relation to psychosocial, motor, intellectual and cognitive development, in addition to highlighting the changes from a sedentary lifestyle to a healthy one, as well as providing an improvement in children's self-defense techniques as a form of self-protection. Thus, this study has high relevance for the scientific and professional community, due to the benevolences induced to schoolchildren and its significant effects on the psychomotor development of the group studied, making it essential to show institutions that jiu-jitsu can be a favorable sport as well as those already implemented in the school curriculum.
